Pecan Nut Patties

Savory pecan-and-cheddar patties browned and baked in mushroom sauce.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 cup ground pecans or walnuts
  • 1 cup grated Cheddar cheese
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 6 eggs beaten
  • 1 tsp sage
  • 2 cups mushroom sauce or soup
  • Pimiento strips optional

Method
 

  1. Combine all ingredients except the mushroom sauce and pimiento. Drop by spoonfuls into hot oil and brown on both sides. Place in a casserole.
  2. When ready to bake, cover with the mushroom sauce and bake in a 350°F oven approximately 25 minutes, or until hot and bubbly. Garnish with pimiento strips if desired.

Notes

Yield: approximately 22 patties.
